The Regional IT Industry Forum is to be Held in Irkutsk
The 3rd iDigital-38 Forum is to be held in Irkutsk supported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Irkutsk Region, Forus Group of Companies, and Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU). The event is scheduled to take place in the House of Youth on November 27-28.
The forum is intended not only to exchange opinions on IT development most topical issues, practices of business digital transformation in real economy sectors, but also to help talented young people navigate through modern IT trends.
The event will unite schoolchildren, Irkutsk university students, representatives of IT companies, executive and municipal authorities. There is a separate informative program for each category of participants.
"Forum iDigital-38 is an opportunity to bring together the State, Business, Youth on one spot to discuss both initiatives for the IT industry development in our region and, above all, to proceed with the program of new digital technologies implementation at all levels of our life. The Government prioritizes ensuring information security and technological sovereignty in the development of the IT industry. That is why it is important to "nurture" our specialists and support businesses in the region," Igor Rymorenko, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Irkutsk Region, defined the forum's objectives.
Representatives of En+ Digital, Irkutsk Oil Company, Irkutsk Aviation Plant and other companies will join the roundtable discussion "Experience of Regional digital transformation based on modern IT trends". According to Irina Shevtsova, Irkutsk region requires to have its own solid point of view on IT-industry formation.
"We observe that in neighboring regions the priority in the development of the IT sector is a key to growth of other related sectors of the economy. Irkutsk region, with its strong traditions in technical specialists training, cannot ignore modern trends in IT development. For three years, the iDigital-38 forum brings together all regional IT industry leaders. This is an opportunity for real sector companies to show the role of IT in their digital transformation, to show novice IT workers, today's students, what interesting projects are available in the region.
Therefore, FORUS, as a large IT company, sets as its goal to popularize, promote and expand the circle of the forum participants. I think that all of us living in Irkutsk Region are interested in its development and prosperity, and without systematic IT integration the economy can't move forward," emphasized Irina Shevtsova, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FORUS Group of Companies.
The forum will be especially focused on schoolchildren and students. In addition to interactive lectures, a fascinating event "1C:Career Day" by Forus Group of Companies is planned. The children will be told about the ways of gaining their first experience in real IT projects, and will be helped to choose a place for effective industrial practice. Experts will share their experience of successful career start in IT from scratch, as well as teach them how to create interesting presentations and manage their time.
The results of the IT project competition for students and schoolchildren will be summarized at the forum. The best concepts will receive cash prizes. The winners of the hackathon "1C-Simple to-do planner and nothing extra" will receive souvenirs and gifts from INRTU.

Today, with full confidence we can say that IT disciplines have become a cross-cutting subject in INRTU educational process. It is impossible to imagine power engineering, construction, geology, aircraft construction and other engineering and technical areas without knowledge and mastery of IT skills. Within the framework of the Digital Chairs project, these competencies are also provided to students in the humanities. Forum iDigital-38 is an opportunity to highlight the importance of IT industry development in our region", - said Rector of INRTU Mikhail Korniakov.
