Foreign Students of INRTU – Participants of the International Friendship Rally on Baikal
The International Friendship Rally was held on November 1-4 on the site of the All-Russian Ecocampus on Baikal, created on the President's order. The meeting united Russian schoolchildren, students fr om China, Mongolia and African countries, teachers and tutors. INRTU was represented by Garba Ahmad Yakubu (Nigeria), Mohamed Awad (Egypt) and Vilankulo Junior (Mozambique).
The city of Baikalsk became a place to discuss youth initiatives, develop projects and strengthen cultural ties.
The program of the event included a competition to create symbols of fictional states, a quiz on history and geography, creative workshops wh ere children learned to paint stones, make panels and dream catchers. Spirit Day was dedicated to discovering Buryat traditions. The participants held a photocross, capturing the landscapes of Lake Baikal. The program ended with a stylized party.
Garba Ahmad Yakubu, a future airplane engineer and head of the International Student Council (ISC), shared his impressions of the trip.
“We participated in all the activities. Especially memorable were games, international cafe, party, crossword puzzles and Baikal research. At the camp we worked in a team together with students from China who study at Baikal State University. They told a lot of interesting things about China, and we showed how rich the culture of African countries is,” shared Garba Ahmad Yakubu.
