Delegation of young specialists of State Corporation Roscosmos visited INRTU
A delegation of Roscosmos State Corporation specialists visited Irkutsk in order to exchange experience in the field of aircraft production. Young scientists and winners of WorldSkills championships looked around the production facilities of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and visited the INRTU.
Vladimir Smirnov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Aleksandr Kononov, Vice-Rector for Research, and Aleksandr Makaruk, head of the i.DIT strategic project under the "Priority 2030" Program, met with the guests at INRTU. They discussed the possibilities of expanding the network interaction with the organizations of the rocket and space industry.
Aleksandr Makaruk made a presentation about the experience of cooperation between the University and the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, a branch of Irkut Corporation. He spoke about the long-term partnership and the implementation of joint research, innovation and educational projects:
"We obtained unique competences as a result of complex projects for the creation of high-tech production of the MS-21 aircraft within the framework of Government Decree No. 218. The most important results include design and modernization of ramified pipelines for aircraft, creation of cutting tools, development of various technologies for aircraft parts manufacturing, assembling technologies, creation of technological digital twins. Irkut Corporation and INRTU have patented more than 30 inventions and certificates"
At present, INRTU specialists are developing technologies for applying special coatings to cutting tools and creating drilling machines with automatic feed. Polytechnic students also prioritize the development of digital technologies, solving the issues of calibration and automatic welding of titanium spigots. Research on implementation of additive technologies in production is being carried out.
The INRTU has six bachelor's degree programs and two master's degree programs in the field of aircraft construction. Aleksandr Veprev, the General Director of Irkutsk Aviation Plant, is the Head of the Department of Aircraft Engineering.
A Design and Technological Bureau, which implements projects in the fields of engineering, oil and gold mining, was created at the university in 2022.
During the excursion, the delegation of the State Corporation Roscosmos visited the university laboratories equipped with modern technological, research and testing equipment.
Andrei Savilov, the Head of High Performance Machining Lab, presented the effective cutting tools designed by the specialists of the university and the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The guests also got acquainted with the tasks solved by INRTU scientists in the field of hybrid and additive technologies.
At the meeting with the students, Aleksei Molochnikov, Chief Expert of the Department of Scientific and Technical Projects at Roscosmos, spoke about the prospects of the Russian rocket and space industry and the opportunities for young specialists. An informative video about the work of the corporation was shown.
"We have a serious background and solve serious tasks that the rocket industry faces with. It is important that young specialists exchange practices and see the experience of industrial enterprises of related industries. My colleagues and I were glad to visit the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and INRTU - the key university of the region. Today the university provides a very close connection with its partner enterprises. The university labs successfully conduct practice-oriented work aimed at the implementation of the scientific developments of the specialists and students into the real aircraft production. The university implements a large scientific and technological capacity, which is also interesting for the rocket industry," commented Aleksei Molochnikov on the results of the visit
Specialists of Roskosmos and INRTU exchanged contacts and agreed to continue cooperation.
