Delegation of Shandong Association for Science and Technology visited INRTU
On August 19, the delegation fr om Shandong Association for Science and Technology visited INRTU. At the meeting with the university senior management, parties discussed cooperation in science, education, and technology transfer.
The delegation was led by Lian Kai, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Association for Science and Technology. Along with him, the university was visited by Xu Zhen, acting chairman of the Energy Association of Shandong Province, Fan Yuchzhan, chairman of the Association of Science and Technology of Heze Municipal District of Shandong Province, and Liang Jun, vice-president of the Medical Association of Shandong Province. The meeting was also attended by Wang Xuefeng, director of the Museum of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, and Zhao Hongliang, deputy secretary of the museum.
Rector Mikhail Kornyakov welcomed the guests. He emphasised that INRTU is among 29 universities with the status of National Research University. INRTU also participates in the federal program Priority-2030, which implements new approaches to education, student science and business. This involves project work of young people in the interests of industrialists and defence of diplomas in the form of start-ups. The university includes more than 30 small innovative enterprises. Three projects are proposed to be launched in China.
Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, spoke about cooperation between the university and China. He said that more than 400 Chinese citizens study at INRTU. More than 70 universities of China, including those from Shandong Province, are partners of the INRTU. Active co-operation with China University of Petroleum, Shandong University, Binzhou University is conducted. Educational programs are being developed with Nanjing University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and China University of Geosciences. Over the last two years more than 20 people from INRTU have been studying in Beijing Institute of Technology within the framework of academic mobility.
In addition, the university pays attention to supporting Russian-Chinese projects in the field of science. For several years INRTU has been participating in the competition aimed at funding research projects of the Jinan Association. In August, INRTU and Harbin Institute of Technology signed an agreement to establish the International Center for Pure Water.
"We would be happy to launch similar projects together with our colleagues from Shandong Association for Science and Technology. The university is also interested in co-operation in the field of technology transfer. In June, INRTU launched a Center of Technology Transfer together with Shenyang University of Chemical Technology".
He also invited colleagues to participate in international projects in the field of sports and creativity, including the Autumn Festival of Chinese Culture and the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
Vice-Rector for Research Aleksandr Kononov joined the conversation. In his opinion, the visit of the Shandong delegation will allow university to find even more partners from the leading scientific organisations of China. The great interest of the governments of Russia and China in cooperation between scientists from the two countries is also in favor of this. Grant support for the researchers is provided by the Russian Science Foundation and the State Natural Science Foundation of the People's Republic of China.
Lian Kai, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, thanked INRTU management for the warm welcome. He stressed that the Association he represented is a non-governmental organisation cooperating with scientists in the field of natural sciences.
"There are about six million people in our province specializing in the development of natural science disciplines.
We actively promote their work and support local university staff. The association holds up to 50 forums a year for scientists. One such event is the major Taishan Conference, wh ere we invite colleagues from your university," said Lian Kai.
