Defense of IT Academy projects: En+ App Marketplace, Email Constructor, Neural Networks, Video Analytics and Radio Communications

Defenses of the IT Academy projects were held at INRTU. Students fr om INRTU, Irkutsk State University and Bratsk State University presented a record number of projects – more than 50. On commission from En+ Digital and En+ Telecom, they developed En+ app marketplaces, digital assistants, as well as initiatives on import substitution, video analytics and radio communications.

It should be noted that defenses are a traditional event of the IT Academy program. It is the result of students' project activities, which are led by En+ staff and university professors.

The participants presented 12 developments in the most topical IT areas. Among them were information security, ERP-platforms, telecommunications, server and network infrastructure.

INRTU team consisting of Egor Novikov, Aldar Tsympilov, Arseny Potapov and Alexander Khlamov was engaged in the issues of import substitution of foreign software for domestic.

According to team leader Egor Novikov, they worked on various options for replacing the Microsoft DFS file storage system:

“We have studied and tested the performance of domestic analogs such as Ceph, GlusterFS and Samba DFS. Each of them has its own pros and cons, however, Ceph and Samba DFS are considered the most promising for further implementation”.

Twice as many projects were completed by IT Academy beginners. They developed digital assistants, mobile apps, and neural networks for solving production tasks for En+ Digital. On commission from En+ Telecom, the students developed projects in the field of network and server infrastructure, video analytics and radio communications.

An inventory app was highly appreciated by the experts. The authors are INRTU second-year students Pavel Khodalitsky, Andrey Alexandrov, Vitaly Alekseev, Nikita Zelent and Alexey Surkov.

“We had been working on the project for three months. Thanks to coordinated actions and distribution of roles in the team, we managed to create a completed software product. The service includes the necessary interfaces for user authorization, inventory and report creation.

I enjoyed working on a real production case. It allows students to acquire professional competencies and improve their portfolio,” shares Pavel Khodalitsky.

36 INRTU students will graduate from the program and will start working at En+ Digital this summer. At the final defense, they presented the app of En+ Youth Councils, as well as promising projects in information security, network infrastructure automation, and other topics.

Zakhar Domolego, Alexander Potapov, Maxim Telenkov, Evgeny Afanasiev and Semyon Sevasteev demonstrated a good level. Under the guidance of Georgy Bekurin, a specialist of En+ Digital development department, students developed a marketplace wh ere all En+ corporate apps will be placed.

“Our market is cross-platform, suitable for iOS and Android operating systems. Teamwork played a big role in the successful realization of the project. Each of the participants contributed to the project and efficiently performed their tasks. We hope that in the future the market will be implemented in En+.

In 2.5 years, we have gotten to know the company's activities and staff. This will shorten the adaptation period and allow us to start working immediately”, explained Zakhar.
