54 Graduates of the School of Subsurface Resource Management of INRTU Received Diplomas with Honors

The ceremonial awarding of diplomas to graduates of the School of Subsurface Resource Management of INRTU took place in the university's assembly hall. INRTU graduated 154 master's and bachelor's students, 54 of whom received honors.

The diplomas were presented by Rector Mikhail Korniakov and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Vladimir Smirnov.

"By receiving your diplomas, you become our full-fledged colleagues and join the brotherhood of engineers. I am especially pleased to congratulate you because I am also a graduate of the Mining Department of INRTU," stated the rector.

Employers, representatives of 20 large mining, oil, and geological exploration companies, congratulated the graduates on this important event.

Vladimir Smagin, Deputy General Director for Development and Interaction with Regional State Authorities of LLC "Vostsibugol Company," invited INRTU students to work, emphasizing that 80 % of the company's engineering and technical staff are INRTU graduates:

"Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. Keep in touch with INRTU! Next year it will be 50 years since I defended my diploma at this university."

His words were joined by Bulat Gilmutdinov, Head of the Department of Oilfield Chemistry and Quality Control of Hydrocarbon Raw Materials at Irkutsk Oil Company (INK). He noted that domestic industry needs specialists to solve complex technological challenges. Such specialists are needed at INK, which is launching new interesting projects – processing hydro-mineral raw materials and gas-chemical production (Irkutsk Polymer Plant).

Aleksei Shevchenko, Director of the School of Subsurface Resource Management, wished the graduates success and good luck in the "life marathon." He also expressed hope that many years later they would meet again at INRTU.

Temurbek Kholmirzoev, who studied in the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, received a diploma with honors. He interned at Irkutsk Oil Company and Rosneft, and plans to enroll in a master's program in "Oil and Gas Economics." One of the most significant events of his student life was participating in the INK "University-Factory" program. This project allows students to intern at the company, including working shifts with the prospect of employment.

"I was a student of the 'INK class.' As a school student, I regularly traveled to INRTU from my hometown of Ust-Kut for additional classes for admissoin. Then I participated in the 'University-Factory' project. Now the company is waiting for my resume to decide which department I will work in," explained Temurbek.

At the diploma awarding ceremony, the best participants of the "Top-100 Graduates" contest were specially recognized. INRTU students excelled in science, culture, and sports. Each of them received a letter of recommendation from Rector Mikhail Korniakov.

Aleksei Nutikov, who completed the "Engineering Geodesy" program, was included in the top 100. He believes that a geodesist is a versatile, applied profession. The education he received in geodesy at INRTU can be used in many fields. Aleksei Nutikov's choice is the promising oil and gas industry for Siberia.

The INRTU student became a finalist in the top 100 due to his active scientific and sports activities. He was a prize-winner at the "Igoshin Readings" and "Safety" forums. Aleksei devoted much time to working in the Student Sports Committee. For example, he organized competitions and participated in national events, including twice at the Winter Festival of the Russian Student Sports Union in Krasnoyarsk.

"The guys from the Sports Committee became like family to me. My classmates will remain in my heart as well. I am not saying goodbye to Polytechnic; I plan to enter graduate school," shared the graduate.
