Transfer from another university

As a general rule, transfer from the initial university to the host institution is allowed no earlier than after passing the first intermediate certification at the original university.
Step 1. Get a certificate of the period of study from your original institution.

Request an academic transcript of study period from your original university within five working days. This document should include a complete summary of scope of courses with grades earned during the midterm.

Step 2. Contact INRTU with a transfer application request

Submit your transfer application request along with the full set of documents:

  • academic transcript from original university;
  • scan of the international passport;
  • scan of previous education documents (education certificate with transcript with grades);
  • migration documents (scan of the student visa, green card, registration).

If the student is transferring under a Russian government scholarship, the fact that the student meets the requirements for such transfer must be stated in the transfer request.

Step 3. Wait for the decision of INRTU

The host university (INRTU) within 14 calendar days from the date of the submission of your transfer application request evaluates the documents received, determines the disciplines that will be retaken or re-certified, as well as the period from which you will be allowed to study in the case of transfer approval.

If more applications than the number of vacant places are submitted, the host university conducts a competitive selection among the pool of applicants.

Within 5-10 calendar days of the admission decision, INRTU will issue you a transfer transcript with an attachment detailing the courses, internships, research and courses that must be retaken or recertified upon transfer process.

If you will be studying on a commercial basis, you must sign all documents required for enrollment, as well as pay a minimum of 1 semester of further study at INRTU in advance (before coming to the university).
