Terminology
The course will provide a deeper insight into the terminological language sub-system to easily apply it in professional interaction both in native and foreign languages The course is directly related to other courses of the programme, such as History of Linguistic Studies and Translation, Specialized Translation Theory and Information Technology in Linguistics and Translation where high terminological awareness is required. Also, it contributes to the final stage of the programme that is Thesis Writing and Defense.

To study language terminological units of different level required for professional interaction in expert communities and develop skills to structure terminological corpora

- On completion of the course, students should be able to: • apply modern methods to search and interpret specific professional discourse both in native and foreign languages
- • apply modern methods to structure lexical units of specific discourse in professional cross-cultural communication
- • correctly classify professional-specific lexis to employ proper translation techniques
- • apply modern methods to collect scientific data for research and development projects
- • exercise modern methods of linguistic analysis and develop translation strategic decisions
