Second Foreign Language (English)
In this course, students will study the ways of generating oral and written texts belonging to various communicative types and genres; they will be able to determine and analyze the relevant information; they will know the ways of presenting linguistic and cultural realias in the light of domestication and foreignization strategies. It allows them to communicate in the multilingual and multicultural society reaching the goals of communication successfully. The recommended level of language proficiency is English Independent User (B1, B2). The course is directly related to all other courses of the programme that need knowledge, skills and abilities referring to the spheres of business and cross-cultural communication. Besides, it contributes to the Company Internships.
The goal of mastering the discipline
On completion of the course, students should be able to perform oral and written communication in English taking into account both linguistic-cultural specificity and interlinguistic asymmetry.
