History of Linguistic and Translation Studies
In this course, students will study the evolution of linguistics and translatology, as well as basic academic paradigms within the context of these two sciences. It allows them to conduct their own research in the fields of linguistics and translatology. The recommended level of language proficiency is English Independent User (B1, B2). The course is directly related to all other courses of the programme that need knowledge, skills and abilities referring to the sphere of theory and practice of translation. Besides, it contributes to the Company Internships, Undergraduate Practice, Thesis Writing and Defence.
The goal of mastering the discipline
On completion of the course, students should be able to analyze scientific linguistic and translation works and perform independent studies in the fields of linguistics and translatology.

- present the knowledge of the linguistic and translation studies evolution, as well as of the basic academic paradigms
- use necessary terminology in the light of the definite academic paradigms
- use basic linguistic and translation terms while working on the project
