Business Communication (First Foreign Language)
Business communication is the process of sharing information between people within and outside a company. Effective business communication is how employees and management interact to reach organizational goals. Business communication is many-sided activities. It includes speaking with people on normal and informal occasions, making and receiving telephone calls, speaking in public and communicating face-to-face.
The goal of mastering the discipline
In this course, students will learn basic knowledge of business communication. Main elements of the course consist of writing business letters as request for quotation, inquiry, reply, invitation etc; holding negotiations.
The skills you get
- Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: • Demonstrate ability of efficient communicative interaction using languages learned in the context of professional interaction; • Demonstrate ability of verbal and written communication using first foreign language, composition and effective usage of coherent and sold texts, which would be semantically, functionally and structurally relevant to solving communication goals, using language means of increased levels of complexity, differentiation of these means depending on communicative register. • Ability to take into account asymmetry across languages and linguistic-cultural specifics in the context of business communication.
