Over 40 Russian programmers participate in «Baikal Tech Com» camp at INRTU

Vice-rector for digital transformation of INRTU Nikolai Kopaygorodsky congratulated the participants on the opening of the workshop. He wished them to take advantage of all the opportunities in the field of IT technologies which are available to young people in «the Era of Internet».

According to Alexey Govorkov, Director of the School of Information Technology and Data Science, such events is a chance to test knowledge on a par with rivals of all ages. In addition, the IT Marathon will make it possible to find friends and future startup and business partners.

«Baikal Tech Com-2022» is supervised by Kirill Tirskikh, head of the programming section at INRTU.

The program of the training camp includes the contest (problem solving) and lectures on the techniques and algorithms for a particular situation in the creation of programs. The participants will work for a week in groups of junior and senior divisions.

One of the event organizers is Roman Ishchenko fr om Irkutsk. He is a leadership member of the regional branch of the Union of Entrepreneurs «Business Russia». Roman noted that «Baikal Tech Com-2022» is an important element in the preparing system of competitive personnel for the IT-industry.


«The participants will solve tasks at a competition pace. Experienced mentors will help to understand the programming methods. These are Gleb Lobanov, an employee of «Yandex», and Alexander Zalyalov, a master's student of Higher School of Economics. They are the participants of the IСPC Championship, a kind of the Olympic Games among programmers wh ere Russians have been leading for the last 20 years», Roman emphasized.

Shakir Bikmetov, Sergey Panin and Roman Shabaev also came to Irkutsk. They are students studying applied mathematics at the University of Science and Technology MISIS. According to Shakir Bikmetov, representative of the senior division, he participates in the camp for the third time and considers it a good opportunity to train in the solution of non-standard practical tasks before ICCP Championship.

«The event is very interesting and eventful. Last Saturday we had a test. Based on the results of this test the coaches adapted the program to us. The next day our team had a lecture on root decomposition, the most important topic in sports programming. The young participants were introduced to binary search ideas about basic algorithms», - said the MISIS student.
