More than 100 students of INRTU got a profession of drone operator within the additional education program

More than 100 students of Irkutsk Polytechnic University have mastered the profession of drone operator within the additional education program under the "Priority 2030". The certificates were handed out solemnly on May 27.

It was previously reported that the educational program was prepared by employees of the Department of Mine Surveying and Geodesy. The educational course, consisting of five modules, was carried out on the basis of the Intersectoral Regional Center of Professional Development and Retraining of Specialists (IRСPD).

The students were congratulated by Andrei Larionov, head of IRСPD, and Vladimir Smirnov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of INRTU.

"In 2021, our university entered the federal Priority 2030 program. The project provides for the organization of additional courses on a free-of-charge basis.

We thank you for your interest and good results. The knowledge and skills acquired during the training you will apply in your professional activities", - stressed Vladimir Smirnov.

Vyacheslav Bosholov, a third-year student at the School of Aircraft Construction, Mechanical Engineering and Transport, learned how to process aerial survey results, including marking terrain features on the map. According to the student, he will apply these skills in his work practice.

"The course certificate is a great addition to my resume. In the summer I am going to do an internship at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant. The company is interested in operators for ground testing, as they are preparing for mass production of drones," said Vyacheslav Bosholov.

Vladimir Denisov, a fifth-year student at the School of Subsurface Resource Management, got new knowledge on aerodynamics (interaction of aircrafts with the environment). The Polytechnic student studied the interface of the software required for data analysis.

"I devoted my thesis to aerial photography. I wrote the theoretical part of the project based on the information resources of an additional program.

I work as a full-time surveyor at StroyProektService, a company that constructs oil and gas production facilities. Our customers are looking for ways to speed up processes, which is why the competencies I learned in the drone control course are so relevant.

In addition, Rosneft, Gazprom and Transneft are interested in UAV operators," said Vladimir Denisov.
