INRTU students are invited to take part in the CASE IN championship

INRTU students are invited to take part in the XI International Engineering Championship CASE IN dedicated to technological leadership. The qualifying stage starts on March 12.

International Championship CASE IN is a part of «Russia - the country of opportunities» platform. The participants of the intellectual tournament are schoolchildren, students and young specialists.

They solve engineering cases for the benefit of companies in the fuel and energy industry, mineral resources complex, nuclear industry and related areas.

At INRTU the program is supervised by the Department of Development of Research and Entrepreneurial Activity of Students, headed by Daria Ruleva. She said that the participants of CASE IN will receive tasks on March 12.

Students are given 10 days for their solution. Defenses will be held on March 22-23 in seven areas: mining, power electrical engineering, metallurgy, project engineering, geological exploration and petroleum engineering, and petrochemistry.

Among the partner companies of the championship are Rosseti, RUSAL, ALROSA, YATEC, etc.

«Irkutsk Polytechnic University will hold the qualifying stage in petrochemistry for the first time. The coordinator of this subject at the university is Olga Belozerova, Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Technology named after N. I. Yaropolov.

In addition, we are ready to repeat the success of 2019 and receive the Energy of Education Award for the best organization.
CASE IN organizers are attracting the attention of companies to talented students. INRTU students will be able to get more offers of internships and other options of cooperation with the leading enterprises of Russia», — emphasizes Daria Ruleva.

During the championship six teams from Polytechnic University presented their projects at the national level and won prizes. In 2022 the student team «Lagrange Theorem» (Evgeny Rudykh, Viktor Kovrignykh, Mikhail Semykin and Sergey Kobylinsky) was the leader in the oil and gas engineering field.

Irkutians successfully solved the case of Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company and proposed to create a gas chemical cluster for the production of ammonia, methanol, urea and bioprotein. The attention of experts was attracted by the fact that Polythecnic students intended to use domestic equipment.

The winners of the engineering tournament got an opportunity to take an internship at Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company and visit one of Russia’s regions as part of the «More Than a Trip» project. Polytechnic students also joined Tavrida. ART festival, which took place in Crimea in 2022.
