INRTU has strengthened the position in THE Impact Ranking 2022

According to the published THE Impact Ranking, INRTU has significantly strengthened its positions. Irkutsk National Research Technical University managed to reach the 300-400 position.

Note that in 2021 the university was at the 400-600 position, and in 2020 at the position of 600+.

This year two Sustainable Development Goals entered the TOP-100:

  • SDG 1 "No poverty" - 66th place in the world;
  • SDG 7 "Affordable and clean energy" - 75th place in the world.

INRTU's success among Russian universities is also quite significant. The university took fifth place in the overall rating, rising by three positions in one year in comparison with the last year. 

The university ranks first among Russian universities on the following Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 1 "No poverty";
  • SDG 6 "Clean water and sanitation";
  • SDG 7 "Affordable and clean energy";
  • SDG 13 "Climate action".

INRTU has secured second place among Russian universities excelling in its cotribution to two SDG:

  • SDG 12 "Responsible consumption and production";
  • SDG 14 "Life below water".

In addition, INRTU is on the TOP-10 on five more Sustainable Development Goals.

Stepan Bykov, Vice-rector for International Affairs, expressed his gratitude to the International Affairs Department involved in the preparation of the forms and reports on the Sustainable Development Goals:

"Basically, the entire university, all services and departments without exception were involved in the preparation of materials for the INRTU ranking! But I would like to express special thanks to the International Affairs Department, and personally to Nina Berngard and Olesya Artemova for organizing and coordinating this process".
