INRTU's Lamers team is a winner of the RISC information security case championship

INRTU's Lamers team won the V RISC 2022 Information Security Case Championship. The finals of the intellectual tournament were held in an online format on 6 March. The students developed recommendations on how to eliminate a cyber-attack within a limited time.

As previously reported, more than 130 teams from 25 cities in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan applied to take part in the anniversary tournament. The event is organised in a situational analysis format, so undergraduate and postgraduate students could improve their practical skills in the field of IS.

According to Alexander Marinov, the manager of Cyber Security Competence Centre, the aim of the unit is to train competitive specialists:

"Projects such as the case championship allow students to understand the complexity and relevance of their future profession. INRTU students did a great job in the final task, taking a respectable second place. The guys presented solutions to real-world problems to current employees of international and Russian companies.

In addition, thanks to the large-scale tournament, the teachers of our centre will be able to influence the quality of education by raising the professional level of our graduates."

The INRTU team consisted of students studying Information Security. Kirill Tushkov, Roman Fyodorov and Alexandra Gorbenko, led by captain Maxim Gubanov, analysed the course of a cyber attack in two hours. The INRTU students identified a potential intruder and prepared a report in presentation format.
