INRTU Delegation Visits Mongolia: Competitions, Concerts and Educational Exhibition

INRTU delegation has returned fr om a large-scale career guidance trip to the aimags of Mongolia. The university staff and students held a competition and a concert for Mongolian schoolchildren and participated in the National Educational Exhibition.

The trip lasted almost 10 days. The INRTU delegation was headed by Assia Kontrimovich, Director of the Center for International Services. According to her information, the main purpose of the trip was to meet with schoolchildren in aimags. INRTU representatives intended to find talented high school students and introduce them to the university.

In each location, the university gave a presentation in Mongolian. The university also organized competitions in social science, physics, mathematics and a master class in Russian language for Russian language teachers. The competitions brought together about 200 schoolchildren. In the end of the meetings the art clubs "Kalina" and "Shagi" of INRTU performed with concert programs.

In addition, delegation visited the Russian House (Rossotrudnichestvo representative office) in Ulaanbaatar. The National Russian Educational Exhibition was held here on October 11-12. It brought together over 20 educational organizations fr om Moscow to Vladivostok, which presented educational programs to local high school students.

The exhibition started with a greeting by Alexey Evsikov, Head of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia. According to him, holding the exhibition and Friendship Days has become a good tradition. The diplomat also noted that the strengthening of cooperation between our countries is influenced by thousands of Mongolian specialists received an education in the USSR and Russia.

The opening ceremony was brightened by the performance of “Kalina” and “Shagi”. Daria Zandraeva, Head of International Admission Office, and student Kristina Efimova also worked at the site. They disrtibuted branded booklets, consulted students and parents.

“We were welcomed everywhere as dear guests. We could feel the children's interest in competitions and learning Russian. The delegation was especially awaited in Bor-Undur, wh ere no Russian specialists had been for a long time. In this city we were also invited to a tour of the underground mine of the Bur-Undur mine (former enterprise of Mongolrosvetmet). As the representatives of the company's management emphasized, they appreciate the way INRTU trains engineering personnel for them. In memory of the meeting we were presented with a panel where the anthem of Bor-Undur is engraved in the Old Mongolian language. Noteworthy, it was written by a graduate of INRTU”, Assia Kontrimovich shared.

The heads of art clubs of INRTU shared their impressions about the business trip. According to Irina Dolotova, the folk club of the Russian song “Kalina” was presented by nine students. Girls and boys performed numbers from the Russian folk repertoire.

“This was the third visit of “Kalina” to Mongolia. As before, the audience welcomed our performance very warmly,” commented Irina Dolotova.

According to Inna Chernykh, Head of the folk club of modern choreography “Steps”, the trip broadened the students' horizons and, most importantly, brought the two nations even closer together:

“I am glad that we are at the head of the locomotive that strengthens the friendship between Russia and Mongolia. I hope that after meeting us, Mongolian children will be sincerely interested in our university and Russian culture”.

Assia Kontrimovich, Inna Chernykh and Irina Dolotova received letters of gratitude on behalf of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo of Mongolia. The awards were presented to them by Vladimir Smirnov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
