INRTU and the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia extended cooperation agreement

The INRTU and the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia signed an additional agreement on cooperation in scientific, educational and innovative activities during the official visit of a delegation of Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute with Rector Mikhail Kornyakov in the Mongolian People's Republic. Previously the cooperation agreement was signed on August 7, 2017.

On the Mongolian side, the document was signed by the president of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia Ragdel Duger. The parties agreed, based on mutual interest, to conduct joint scientific research and activities, training and exchange of highly qualified personnel in the field of geophysics, geology, ecology, information technology.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening business relations and identifying new opportunities for the implementation of joint research and educational projects aimed at solving urgent problems facing Russia and Mongolia.

Within the framework of the agreement, the parties plan to conduct joint scientific research activities on the study of Lake Khubsukhul, and the possibility of joint applications for Russian-Mongolian grants was also discussed.

"We are interested in developing closer scientific cooperation with Irkutsk National Research Technical University. I am sure that signing of the agreement will allow creation of necessary conditions for implementation of joint research, development and technological projects," - said the President of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia Ragdel Duger.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the training of highly qualified personnel for the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia.

Rector Mikhail Kornyakov reported that five postgraduate students from Mongolia are currently studying at the INRTU. Two of them are preparing to defend their dissertations this year.
