About the program
Heat power stations are the leaders of the Russian and world energy in the production of electricity. Therefore, the profile " Heat power stations " makes it possible to get one of the most reliable professions. Since 1971, the Department of Thermal Power Engineering of Irkutsk National Research Technical University has been training highly qualified specialists capable of working in various fields of industry. In the course of preparation, students study technologies for the production of electric and thermal energy, equipment of heat power stations of various types, systems for the supply of thermal energy to consumers, issues of reliability, energy conservation, environmental safety, as well as digital technologies used in thermal power engineering.
Learning outcomes
- participation in the maintenance and management of technological processes, ensuring control and safety at work;
- carrying out calculations of technological equipment, thermal circuits;
- conducting experiments and analyzing the results;
- conducting a preliminary feasibility study when choosing modernization options;
- participation in repair, commissioning and installation works.

Entrance exams
Applicants take a computer entrance exam in Russian or provide CEFR level B1, TORFL level 1 or equivalent to the Russian-taught program.
